For example, from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM? When do they have to show up and when do they get to leave?

It's different in every school district, but in Denver Public Schools, where my mom works as a 3rd grade teacher, she has to be there at 7:15 AM (because the kids have to be there by 8:15 and the teachers are supposed to get there a full hour before the kids do. She technically gets to leave each day at 3:15, since the kids leave at 3:00, but usually there is some annoying parent who will want to have an impromptu conference about their kid with her after school, and she's lucky if she can get out the door by 4:00.

They sometimes stay late to work on the following day's plan and take care of paperwork
