Why do all kids think they're going to go far when they don't work hard?

In my school, it seems like every thinks that they are going to do great things but they don't apply themselves to their schoolwork. Personally, I have great grades. I am a sophomore and I'm in all advanced classes and I have excellent grades in all of them. Some kids think that they are going to go extremely far in life. Most of these kids are in the 70's and low 80's area. They all have this mentality that they're going to be doctors, detectives, and politicians and things like that. They don't try, they cheat, and they do imbecilic things. They almost all say "I'll try in college." Are they even going to get into a good college? It's crazy! Can anyone tell me why all these kids think that they're going to go far?

Because the parents these days mollycoddle them and let them listen to "gangsta" music. I am going to become a veterinarian or a farmer, or both. And I will work hard. And I do. And I study hard. But these kids think they will gain satisfaction, and six digits, by being welfare bums. They are retards who need better parents.

Because their parents have let them slack all their life and let them think they are going to be a lawyer even so. They won't. They might get some degree in art history or fashion design......then they'll be spending their lives stocking shelves at Walmart and saying "do you want fries with that?" while paying off mounds of student loans.



Don't even worry about them. Somebody has to be the janitor. And the lady behind the counter at the dollar store. And the guy selling you bread at Panera.



Living well is the best revenge. By the way, good on you for working hard and putting education first. You'll do fine.

Well many kids like to fool around and when they get to college they rely on parents. This isn't right because in life parents won't be there
