That's what most professional athletes were asking back then. They were earning huge sums of money before. Now many of them are broke, filing bankruptcy, trying to work minimum wage jobs, or in prison. Such a sad ending for these athletes! Some of them actually returned to college because of their financial woes or because they want to avoid financial hardships in the future (when their careers are over).
So what's the point you asked? Each person has their own answer to this question. Do yourself a favor. Continue your education and excel in all subjects. If not for you, for your own family one day!
I hope this helps. Good luck!

As data become more important in many fields, understanding math will become increasingly important.
But you probably won't directly use all the math that you learned. You're learning how to think logically and mathematically. When you need to learn to write SQL queries to get data from your company's database, you will find that writing subqueries uses the same kind of logic as solving a system of two algebraic equations.
Will everyone need to think logically and mathmatically? No. Some people will need to scrub the toilets.
I'll give you a hint. The jobs that use mathematical thinking pay better than scrubbing toilets does.

It molds you for the future. Who cares. Just do it. Accomplish an A in a subject. When you put effort into something that you don't need in "real life" it's a big accomplishment that will pay off. You get plenty of scholarships for great grades. Great grades = money. Effort in the future = money. Hard work = money. It also molds you into a better person. Do your homework, study, go to a great college for free. With the attitude you have, you won't get very far. I never once thought "when am I going to use this?!" I just did it and got scholarships for college. Money you get to keep for yourself and not be in debt for student loans. Suck it up.

You need it for college, and you need college for a degree, and you need a degree for a worthwhile job, and you need a worthwhile job for a happy life. Now shut the hell up and do your work.
