I have been in to this domain for some time, Try OnlineCampus School Management ERP Solution, this is being used in more than 30 Schools in middle east. They have office in Kuwait, saudi and uae also It is web based, teachers, students, parents and principal have portal which they can use to login from any where in internet. They implement this software specifically for the needs of the school. I know schools which are using this..

Now days web based systems have more use than earlier desktop application, I would recommend this..

There are many solutions available as cloud solutions where we can pay an annual amount and get access, this are good for quick usage but all of this are very basic and cannot be customized for each school..that is why I will say schools should go with school management or student management solutions which can be customized and will also need full time support..
