i will be a freshmen in college of fall 2013 and i am stuck between these two colleges. i know overall UCI is ranked better than Pomona, but for engineering i heard mixed answers of which one is better. Like i heard Pomona is better because you have a high employment rate after graduating and that you have more hands on experience. but UCI is a top research university, so i am stuck.

plus UCI offered me more financial aid, but i can apply for other scholarships

Cal Poly Pomona is ranked higher in engineering than UCI by the US News ranking. Cal Poly Pomona is better at some programs, but the two are not really comparable since Pomona has unique programs in agriculture, architecture and hospitality.

It depends upon what sort of engineering. If you are looking for software engineering and laptop science, then UCI. UCI is the one UC that has an complete dept for CS. It offers you a variety of room to discover. You can also not realize this correct now, however CS is an awfully diverse subject, and UCI gives you the room to discover and go into a discipline you adore inside CS. U.S.A. Would be a close 2d for CS. As for Engineering mainly, i'd say united states of america. The best factor about united states of america is that it's almost always probably the most underneath-rated engineering universities in the country. Their exceptional of education is relatively excessive, but it is rather convenient to get into their engineering applications... Fairly bizarre. Quite a few the founders of google are former usa professors (which can be filthy rich now). I imply Google used to be typically situated by stanford guys, but these u.S.A. Profs made it in very early within the game. UCLA mostly appears over rated, they get all their hype seeing that of exercises. I do not know a lot about SD. You didn't point out it, but if Berkeley is an choice, you should go there. Berkeley is freakin' powerful throughout. Cal Poly SLO is def the best of all Cal States. It is frequently a lot better than some united states of america well for engineering (like UCR, SC, Merced, and so forth), however i don't think its as excellent as any of the U.S.You stated.

Cal Poly Pomona has the top engineering (next to Cal Poly SLO) program in California and some of the top programs in the country...it trumps UC Irvine. It's a great school, and offers hands on training. Choose it.

UC Irvine; it has better areas in everything than Cal Poly Pomona.
