I'm going to a new boarding school where i might stay for good 5 years. I know that if you go in and make a small mistake, you get yourself assigned a nickname or even bullied. I noticed that some people play it so well that everyone is safe with them. Everyone in my current school determine the weakness of a person by their strength. If you're weak, you get bullied. But there is one boy in my class who is a midget and everyone's scared of him because he can cuss well. Do i have to go in and start cussing everyone in order to not get a nickname? How should i act hard but not a bully and a gangster at the same time? How do i respond to someone older and stronger cussing me? I want responses from people who know what i'm talking about and not "tell the teacher"

Don't worry. Before I went to boarding school I was totally freaked out but after about a month I had settled in and was fine. Just be who you are because thats always easier and better then trying to be someone else, don't swear if its not you. Also think this way, you wouln't bully someone, and 99% of the people are going to be like you. Once you make close friends, which will probably happen quickly worry about them, because they are the people whose opinions matter, not everyone else. Be nice, genuine, and try to have fun, the rest you will not be able to control. Good Luck, you'll be fine!

Fighting's for idiots, listen to people and be interested in them. Humour's a great tool for breaking down barriers. It takes a bigger person to walk away from a fight - Help out people and they will like you (don;t grovel or they will abuse your help) - be sensible and if you do get a nickname, be happy - we all get them over time it's cool (depending what it is..!) it's good to be unique as nicknames are usually only associated with one person - so be proud! - Good Luck hope it all goes well for you.

hey don't get so worked up. when i went to boarding school i was really unsure what the people would be like but you'll get the hang of it well. unless you are going to one of the boarding schools for "troubled teens"

i suggest that you just be a normal guy and if somebody bullied you just stand for yourselff and if you can't do it before you go to that boarding school make sure you bring a weapon like a bat and use lockers for a weapon smash their heads and if you don't have a weapon punch them in the tommy thats their weakness
