So here's my situation: I'm currently a sophomore in high school and I go to a really nice private school. Now, at this time of year, I'm filling out
my course selections sheet which lets me pick my courses that I want to take junior year. Now, I signed up for AP Statistics and I was granted permission by the teacher to take it next year. I am currently in Algebra 2 and freshman year I took Geometry. Now, my father told me that I need to take Pre-Calculus in high school junior year so I don't have to take the confusing version in college. But I really want to take AP Statistics (the prequisite is algebra 2 + geometry). Now, my question is: do I have to take Pre-calculus? And what is your reccomendation on what I should do. Please reply ASAP. My course selections sheet is due tomorrow. Thank you so much.

I would recommend taking Pre-Calculus honors and then taking AP statistics. I am taking Pre calc as a sophomore and then taking AP Calc AB as a junior and AP calc BC as a senior to avoid the quote "less confusing version" in college. Presonally I would go ahead and take Pre calc. Or perhaps take pre calc and AP statistics in the same year (maybe take out a pointless elective) that way you can do both if you really want to. Anyways sorry if this answer was no help at all but I tried :)

Take Pre-Calculus or Calculus if availiable at your school. I am a junior and I am taking Pre-Calculus Honors right now. Next year I take Calculus. Many seniors at my school are taking Pre-Calculus.

You can take either because you have 2 years to go. Pre-Calculus and then Statistics OR Statistics than Pre-Calculus.
