I'm a freshman in highschool, well here's how it started off, it was first quarter got my report card F F F F F B C, my parents took everything from me for five weeks, so in the next semister i tried my best to pass so i won't dissapoint them , then today i got my report card and it was F F F F D D B, yeah i know not any better. Since tomorrow is Christmas i hid i from my parents so they won't get mad and be P.O through the Christmas days. I'm on the verge of tears because I tried and failed. My mom already told me that she's not paying for summer school for me. I'm willing to pay for it i just need help to convince her when i show the report card to her. Is credit recovery and option? Please somebody help me!?!

I'm really sorry to hear that despite trying your hardest, the results were a bit disappointing. I think the first step is to reveal your grades to your parents. While naturally your parents will be upset to see your grades, they will be even more upset if you hide the truth from them.

Now, I think what might be best is to arrange a meeting between yourself, your parents, and a school counselor in order to discuss the problem and possible avenues that might yield a solution. I believe that with an impartial third party (school counselor, for example), you can be honest and open with your parents, and they will be more receptive to hearing what you have to say and to understanding that you really mean to do your best.

I wish you all the best in your endeavors, and academic success for the future.

You know, i really dont wanna say this but. Seriously i dont think you even tried. I mean take me for example, i missed two days of school and my grade in geometry went from a B to an F. But in one week i raised it to an A. Seriously you need to put your heart and soul into your grades, i mean right now thats all you have to worry about. This is just your freshman year, if you cant keep up how are you gonna do for the rest of the three year? 10th, 11th, and 12th grade are not gonna be any easier. If you think about it, you might as well tell your parents your grade now, because they can take your christmas gifts away before or after christmas. and you dont want your grades to be a surprise to your parents in the future. And i mean c'mon you got a better grades your 1st quarter than your 2nd.

Next you say you are willing to pay for summer school, how bout instead of paying for summer school you dont end up in it at all? Wouldn't you rather spend that money on new shoes or clothes?

Take my advice SERIOUSLY. :L

It is never to late to turn your grades around. I started off High School with barely a 2.0 and graduated with a 3.1. I would strongly suggest that you set up a meeting with your counselor, teachers, and your parents to try and figure out the problem. In my experience none of those people want you too fail, they are all there for you success.

If you still need more help then I would turn to friends who could help you in certain subjects. Those grades dont mean you are not smart, it just means you need extra help. Don't try to do it all alone.

Good Luck, and Merry Christmas :D

First, did you go into to tutorials that the teachers have? If not you need too.

Second, Have you talked with your teachers on ways to improve your grade at any point during the semester...if not you need too. Some teachers will allow you to make test corrections or retake the test and the two test grades are average together.

Third: have you and are you absolutely sure you have turned in all of your assignments. If not, you need to do all the assignments and turn them in on time.

You need to tell your parents. They may already know especially if your school district has Skyward- or a program in which parents and guardians have access to your grades on a daily basis. This also allows parents to communicate with teachers at any time about you and your grades.

Unless you struggle with study then you should be able to do better. First talk to your parents. They will find out eventually. Then talk to a counselor and see if you can get some tutoring. You just need to work harder next semester.I am sorry about your grades but you can strive to get them up if your really want to.Tell them after Christmas.

Listen, calm yourself down. Always let your parents know, because they are going to find out eventually, and they will just be more upset. I don't know about the credit, though. I would just get a tutor.

Have a Merry Chrstmas!
