I live on the intersection of a main road and a side road. Both roads are bus routs. My mailbox is on the very busy main road so that's where my physical address is. But my drive way is up the side road. There are three buses that come up and down the side road so it is a bus route. But since my mailbox is on the main road they wont come to my drive way they come to the mailbox. I don't like them coming there because no one wants to stop for the bus. She blows her horn but people just drive right on by. My sons bus comes to the drive way though. I've talked to the bus driver and she wont come to my driveway. I am concerned about my daughters safety getting on and off school bus. I was thinking of going to the post office to see if I can get my mailbox moved because there is another mail box beside my drive way from my neighbor and the mail delivery woman said she would rather have our mailbox there anyway. If that doesn't work, how can I make the school change my daughters bus or make her come to my driveway?

When we first moved several years ago, my youngest was entering 4th grade and the driver wanted her to walk up 3 blocks to catch the bus even though he drove right past our house every morning. He just didn't want to stop.

My suggestion to you is this - if the buses in your district have numbers, watch them and get the bus numbers from the ones that pass your driveway. Call the principal at your daughter's school explain the situation and give him/her the bus numbers. (That worked for me.) If it doesn't work, call the superintendent. If that doesn't do it, start calling the school board members.

Much luck to you!

Why don't you suggest to the driver that you're going to ask for your daughter to be moved to a route which stops on the safer side road, and ask if she'd back you up? I'm sure she doesn't like traffic whizzing past when she needs to stop either.

I would take a large scale map (maybe print one off Google Maps) so you can show the school exactly what the issue is.

call the transportation office for your school district and explain that. they might grant you your wish, they might not. just try :)
