I am currently in grade 12 and am planning to apply to collage for September' 09. Two weeks ago my English mark was 90% but due to me not handing in ONE assignment my mark had dropped to 30%.

Mid Term marks are due tomorrow, so I will not be able to do anything to improve my marks.
does this ruin my chances of getting into collage?
is it all based on your midterm marks?

(my mark dropped so much because there is only 4 things on the mid terms and they all have to equal to 100%)

Midterm marks don't go on your transcript - semester end marks (or trimester, whatever you've got) do. Midterm marks are a halfway point for you to evaluate where you're at and what you need to do in order to get your final grades where they need to be. (You may have some explaining to do to your parents, though.)

I would say to make sure to hand in your assignments, since they're graded so heavily. You likely still have time to pull your grades up.

i don't think mid term matters. think of it as this way. mid term is a bank statement. It doesnt matter what is in the in bank statement what matters is what you currently have. I have a midterm average of 73% (grade 9) and i don't care. But take the mid term as a wakeup call cause i think i better improve my math to get my marks higher. If you are losing marks for not handing in assignments thats stupid. Atleast give something in. Even if you work on it the nigh before. Atleast you will get a mark!
